When I saw coffee stain on my shirt, the very first thing come to my mind was daag achche hai, in spite of knowing it is difficult to get rid of that stain. Not I, most of the people utter such punch lines in their day to day life.
Punch lines are the essential part of the advertising. It creates brand identity. Punch lines are what lead you to think for any brand. To make the sellable advertisement, the advertisers or advertising agencies are creating sparkling advertisements, which keeps popping into audience’s mind all the time.
The punch lines or the slogans are crux of the advertisement. That create brand image to the audience’s mind. Any good ad is made out of factual information with emotional appeal.
Does all the punch lines are factual?
The recent one by Thumps up says “Aaj kuch Toofani karte hai”, this one sounds like – go violent and do crazy things.
Another one is Lee’s “The Jeans That Built America”. Cement like jeans or what? Still wondering how jean can build any country/continent!
Max New York Life Insurance – “Your Partner for Life”. Are they Parallel marriage bureau? Parents should left worries on them.
Mentos – “Dimag ki Batti Jala De” – No Comment.
P.S. – Our intention is here to show the unethical or improper way of branding that hardly have any relation with the actual or factual thing. We are not targeting any individual brand. Our intention is “Sab Padhe Sab Badhe”, and for the excellent marketing “Hum Hai Na!” #blacksheeps.
